Employment Exams, Return to Work Exams, and many other work-related examinations are actually Fitness for Duty Exams. Such examinations can substantially impact an employer’s risk / liability and expense from accident and/or injury. These exams and the resultant decisons must also comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, e.g. the language regarding "significant risk of substantial harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodation." Our board certified Occupational Medicine specialist is an expert in this arena.. His experience and familiarity with workplaces and the demands of the work activities as they relate to medical conditions and findings help us provide solid and defensible results. We are prepared to defend the "significant risk of substantial harm to self or others" aspects of our recommendations. We are also available to employers who have an account with us to consult on the employer's need to establish "essential job functions" and consideration of possible "reasonable accommodations". While we feel that our enhanced history review (for which the employee is held culpable) and screening physical examination is usually adequate, we have available some advanced testing. We also have advanced vision testing, audiometry (hearing testing), strength, spirometry (lung function), carpal tunnel screening, and other medical testing available for special needs. We take our work seriously but still price our exams competitively -- to provide the best value avaialble.
